Common Questions
Accommodations
We have secured (4) hotels run by a religious community that
each have (25) rooms to offer our group. Each room has two single
beds so we can accommodate roommates of (2) people each room.
What
To Bring
Warm clothes - Remember that it will be the ending of
winter in Europe, so consider appropriate clothing for cooler
weather.
Money - There will be plenty of shops for buying souvenirs
and gifts, as well as food and drink. And remember that you
will need Euros while in Italy, so consider the exchange rate.
To find a Euro exchange rate calendar, go to www.google.com
and type in "Euro to US exchange rates" and you will
get all kinds of good stuff.
Watch
Your Valuables
Rome is famous for its Gypsies who are pros at stealing money
and other valuables off your person, even via their children.
So keep them safe and secure somewhere that is not easy to get
to. I always put my money in my shoe.
Additional
Expenses to Consider
Additional costs will vary for each person. It all depends on
what you do. You might not know that until you get there. So
the following are possible additional expenses that will help
you get an idea of how much to bring. Keep in mind that you
will be able to use U.S. currency, Travelers Checks and credit
cards. If you use their ATM machines, you will get Euros out
of the machine. It would be wise to consider bringing cash to
have with you, or use your credit card.
Airfare and Travel - $700 average
Everyone is responsible for booking their own airfare and getting
to Rome on March 18. Once in Rome all ground travel is included
in your registration. We are putting together a group flight
out of Newark, NJ on March 17, which is priced at $625 (may
vary depending on when booked). We are also setting up a
group rate for a hotel the night before so the group can get
together before hand. Once you register, you can contact
us about this flight option and the hotel the night before.
Food and Drinks
Continental breakfast is included in your accommodations. Lunch
and dinner is purchased by each attendee when out and about
in Rome during the day and evening. You are always free to have
breakfast elsewhere at your own expense.
Group
Activities
Our guides and planners in Rome have provided an excellent and
full itinerary
for our group. Click
here to read the detailed itinerary for each day.
Non-Group Activities
If you want to move about the area to sightsee, or go to shops
or restaurants, etc., you are free to do so at your own risk.
We recognize that smaller groups may form and desires to see
other things not in our itinerary may arise. We encourage this
but cannot be responsible for anything happening outside our
set plans. Please make these arrangements outside of Road To
Cana and between each other in the group.
Evenings
Free
Each religious-run hotel has VERY LITTLE room for our group
to socialize in the evening. Socializing is a key thing to do
for our group, so I hope you will take advantage of being in
Rome and all there is to do in the evenings, and spend time
together.
